It may sound like a disparate bunch of activities - sweat lodges, pilates, pottery, comedy, drag, circus acts, writing workshops, meditation, cabaret - but that’s what’s on offer at Soul Pride, a retreat for the LGBTQI+ community where the emphasis is on feeling good, having fun and meeting like-minded gays and other alphabet people.
Set in Wasing Park Estate, a beautiful woodland setting in Berkshire surrounded by ancient oaks and rolling hills just an hour and a half from London, Soul Pride has enrolled the showbusiness skills of the likes of Jonny Woo, Ruby Murray, Alexis Gregory of Riot Act fame and Zoe Lyons - among many others - to add sparkle and mirth to the serious business of generally feeling better about yourself.
Prices start at £400 for a Thursday to Sunday stay on full board with space to pitch your tent… or you can go fancy and stay in one of their bell tents, or even the cottage. Very reasonable, we think, for a life-changing experience. They don’t come cheap, you know.
