‘Tis the season for boozy terraces
Some things we love: a dry, crisp vodka martini with a twist. Whiskers on kittens. London in the summer. Terraces in London in the summer. Dry, crisp vodka martinis with twists on terraces in London in the summer. A kitten on a terrace.
Where’s this heading…? Oh yeah, The Mandrake hotel’s Jumera Terrace – which a lot of you will know from its starring role in not one but two superstar JAKE events in very recent years – will open to London’s glittering public this Saturday for the summer season.
Designed by Bureau Bas Smets and the winner of ‘Best Outdoor Space’ in the Global AHEAD Awards in 2019, Jumera is a dawn till, well, often right through to dawn again, green-filled oasis tucked away from the hustle/bustle of Fitzrovia outside.
Not only is it bloody gorgeous, and the dappled sunlight through the suspended gardens of jasmine and passionflower will make you look like a Botticellian beauty, but you can fill your boots with seasonal dishes including crab, chipotle and caviar tostada or ceviche of asparagus, avocado and broad bean. Or, should the mood take you, YOPO, the Mandrake’s renowned restaurant, will be serving dishes inspired by its head chef’s travels through Buenos Aires, Santiago and Lima.
Oh and summer cocktails. Lots of summer cocktails.
