Soho House round your house
Now, we’d all like to live in Soho House. Some of us practically do, and we blame them for making that perfectly acceptable house red so reasonable. But we mean in terms of furnishings. They’ve always got it so spot-on. The cosy thing mixed with the cool thing, where the furniture seems like it could be a design classic only you’ve not seen it everywhere before.
Well, they clearly realise they’re onto a good thing as Soho Home, where you can actually buy this stuff, is now a thing. You could always pick up bits and bobs from Soho Farmhouse and on the glittering web but now you won’t even have to slip into a welly as there’s a whole new Soho Home experience slap bang in Chelsea, right on the King’s Road if you don’t mind. It’s called Soho.Home.Studio (we thought we’d done with playing with punctuation to get attention, but we’ll overlook it in this instance) and it’s housed in a Dickensian-era chapel, which couldn’t be more perfect.
Inside, as well as buying those Soho House-y items - which we don’t think are too expensive, when you come to think of it: less than £2,000 for a statement chandelier? We’ve spent more on big nights out - you can also test the creativity of Soho House members who will be collaborating with ‘The House’ on art and design and furniture and what-have-you.
Perfect if you’re thinking of doing up your gaff for what Americans refer to as ‘the holibobs’ and with a fair few gift ideas - if you’re still doing that - thrown in for good measure, it could make quite a nice Christmas outing… if you add drinks before and after.
