Sweet smell o’ sexy
We don’t know about you, but what you can’t tell about a man by the way he smells isn’t worth knicker elastic. Or something.
Which is why Miller Harris’ latest smell – Eau de Parfum in old money – is right on Her Majesty’s British pounds. Oud Éclat, they’re calling it, and if anyone knows anything about olfactory loveliness, it’s all about oud right now. But not the oud you get come last orders down the Medina – though if that’s your thing then who are we to judge – but ye olde oud that’s been tickled by sweet, sweet notes of sugar, tagete, cashmere wood and nutmeg. Go deeper and we’re talking moss, musk and leather.
Perfumer Emilie Bouge’s inspiration was the play of light and dark when lead and glass are combined to make crystal – pretty thought, right? – and Oud Éclat pays homage to that alchemy with its nuanced balance of shimmering sweetness and spicey, after-dark oud, for an all-round hit of mellow masculinity.
Which sounds hot, right?
Oud Éclat will sit in the Miller Harris Private Collection of fragrances - created in small volumes, they are modern homages to perfumery’s most exquisite and highly sought after essences.
